The Hautes Pyreneese

The tour takes place in June at spring time, when the days are long, and the flora at its best.

The design proposed is 15 days, and it can be shortened. All our walks are designed so they can suit an average level of fitness. Many pathways are close to being horizontal.

3 days in Pays Basque, gateway to the Pyrenees

In the exquisite Souletain village of Larrau, the highest village in Pays Basque, enjoy twilight walks after the fine evening meals.

Enjoy aperitif time with locals in Julien's café, discover new and unbelievable aspects of Pays Basque. Savour Isabelle's meal prepared for us, and our friends, in her family home.

9 days in Vallee d'Aure

From our first Hotel in Arreau, a vibrant town astride two mountain rivers, we will explore the Valley d'Aure and the valley du Louron.

Walk from village to village, and take in the breathtaking views of the high mountains. Why have people settled at such altitudes? Listen to the story of their lives, how they crossed the pass De la Pez, to harvest olives in Aragon. How they found the time to create beautiful sculptures and paintings in the many small churches.

Let yourself be touched by the simple way people open their door to you. Take the time to discover the rich history through the many messages left along the pathways. Enjoy the markets in Arreau and St Lary.

Meet Dominique, taste her cheese and share moments of her life as she milks her goats. Follow a brook beneath majestic mountain cedars, to the Hospice where pilgrims on the path to Compostelle and peasants stopped to rest before climbing the high pass to Spain. Listen to stories while Patick, a local guide tracks with you the wildlife including Izards and Marmots.

3 days in Aragon (Spain)

Josephina and her son Jose give us hospitality in their beautiful home in the heart of the village of St Juan del Plan.

The valley of St Juan del Plan still lives with the rhythms of another time where the sheep are housed in the heart of the village. Walk along the ancient tracks that connected Aragon and the Valley d'Aure where centuries of trading had carried oil, wool, and cattle. Tramp to the abandoned village perched high above the deep canyons of Anisclo. After the walk refresh with a 'Cerveza' on a terrace of a café in the medieval town of Ainsa, before returning to France, where we end our tour.
