Morocco Trekking Tour

By negotiation only for 2011

Leave the beaten track to explore a Berber valley, high in the Atlas ranges. Discover Essaouira, an enchanting fortified harbour. Explore the legendary streets of Marrakech.

This unique experience offers 16 days of complete immersion in the culture and environment of the people of the High Atlas. Traverse a landscape of dramatic contrasts and remote villages en route to the Ait Bouguemez Valley, a secret treasure of the Atlas Ranges only newly accessible by road.

Leave the world behind and walk through the Vallee Heureuse, sharing an unforgettable 16 days with people who in their simplicity have preserved the most essential values of life.

Emerging from the mountains, discover the enchanting city of Essaouira, relax on the harbour and enjoy the sounds, colours and aromas of the souk (marketplace) where people have traded since Phoenician times.

Solange spent some of her childhood in southern Morocco and is delighted to join with mountain guide Med in sharing this amazing region with New Zealanders. She has 10 years of experience guiding travellers through the South of France.

Med, with the support of Solange’s translation, guides you on a three to four hour walk each day at your own pace. Mules or minibus will provide transport for your luggage.

Our program is flexible due to the small size of the group (restricted to 9) and our network of experienced guides. We will stay in maison d’hotes (some nights we will sleep in the Berber tents).

Guests are met in Bordeaux or Marrakech
